Service Description

Pregnancy Yoga in Bury St Edmunds Small, supportive classes designed to prepare your body and nervous system for a calm, connected birth. Join me every Tuesday or Thursday in Bury St Edmunds for a nourishing hour where you can slow down, connect with your baby, and practise tools that will stay with you in labour. With just five women in each class, the space feels personal, calm and genuinely supportive. “The breathing exercises were so useful throughout labour and birth. I felt prepared without even realising.” - Jodie, first-time mum Each class is an invitation to soften into your body and build quiet confidence in your ability to birth. We move through pregnancy-specific postures to ease tension, support your changing body, and build the muscle memory your body will draw upon in labour. Alongside this, we weave in breathwork, relaxation and nervous system support so you feel grounded and steady as your pregnancy progresses. This is more than just stretching. It’s about creating a sense of safety within your body, releasing fear around birth, and learning how to come back to your breath when it matters most. Many mums describe this as the most peaceful hour of their week — a space to pause, connect, and feel supported by other women walking the same path. When should I start pregnancy yoga? Classes are suitable from 16 weeks onwards, and many women begin in their second trimester. Starting earlier gives you time to gently build strength, body awareness and breathing confidence before late pregnancy. The practices become familiar and instinctive — so when labour begins, your body already knows what to do. You don’t need to wait until you feel uncomfortable to begin preparing for birth. The earlier you start, the more supported and steady you’re likely to feel. “I started at 25 weeks and wish I’d joined sooner.” - Kimberley, 1st time mum Whether you join at 16 weeks or 36 weeks, you’ll be welcomed exactly as you are. Do I need to have done yoga before? Not at all. These classes are designed specifically for pregnancy and are suitable for complete beginners. What if I miss a class? Life happens, especially in pregnancy. If you can’t make a session, just let me know as soon as you can. With at least 4 hours’ notice, you’re welcome to reschedule into another class that week or the next (if space allows).
